AI receptionist · Australia-wide

The calls you miss are the jobs you lose. This one answers.

An AI receptionist answers your business phone in an Australian voice whenever you can't. It works out what the caller wants, puts genuine callers through to you, and for everyone else captures their name and number and texts you the details before you've put your tools down. It is not something we are selling at the moment.

We built this for ourselves first. It answers MP Launch's own phone on (08) 7008 7501 every day — so what you see on this page is a description of something running in production, not a product page for something we'd build if you asked.

Why missed calls quietly cost trades and service businesses the most

  • You're up a ladder, under a sink or on a job site — the one place you cannot take a call — during exactly the hours customers ring.
  • A caller who reaches voicemail usually doesn't leave one. They ring the next business on the list, and you never find out the job existed.
  • By the time you finish up and call back at 6pm, the person who needed someone at 2pm has already booked someone else.
  • Answering services bill per call or per minute, so the busy months — the ones you most want to say yes to — are the expensive ones.
  • Hiring a receptionist for a one or two person business is thousands a month for eight hours of coverage a day, five days a week.

What it actually does on every call

No add-on tiers and no per-feature pricing. Every one of these is in the service.

Answers in an Australian voice

A natural AU voice, not a robotic overseas-sounding one. It rings a few times first rather than picking up instantly, because an immediate answer is the fastest way to tell a caller they've reached a machine.

Puts real callers through to you

When you're available it bridges the call to your mobile and announces it first, so you know it's a business call and hear the caller's number before you speak. If you can't take it, the caller is handed back to the assistant rather than dropped.

Captures the details that matter

First name and the best number to call back on, confirmed with the caller — plus a preferred callback time in their own words. It doesn't interrogate people for a form's worth of data before they've been helped.

Texts and emails you instantly

The second the call ends you get a text with the lead, and an email with the full record: their details, a summary of what they wanted, the complete transcript and a link to the recording.

Answers the questions you're sick of answering

What you do, which areas you cover, roughly how your pricing works, what happens next. Scripted from your business, so it says what you'd say — and it's told to hand off rather than guess when it doesn't know.

Every lead written down

Each genuine enquiry lands in a lead tracker automatically, so you have a record of who called and what they wanted rather than a phone log you have to reconstruct from memory.

Where a human still wins: an unusual, emotional or complex call. A person handles that better than any assistant, and we'd rather tell you that than pretend otherwise. What the AI wins on is the call at 7pm on a Sunday that currently goes nowhere at all.

How do you get it running?

1

A 10-minute call

What your business does, which calls matter, what you want the assistant to say, and the hours it should cover. That conversation is most of the setup.

2

We script and build it

We write its script from your business — your services, your areas, your answers — and configure the routing so it picks up exactly when you want it to.

3

You test it before anyone else does

You ring it yourself and hear precisely what your customers will hear. We tune the wording until it sounds like your business, before a single real caller reaches it.

4

It goes live on your number

Your existing number, or a new one alongside it while you build confidence. You start getting texts the moment real calls come in.

Can I buy this today?

Not at the moment. We built and ran an AI receptionist, and we are not selling it as a product right now, so there is no price on this page.

If answering the phone is the problem you are trying to solve, the thing we do sell that helps most is the managed business phone number included with Care: an Australian number that goes on your website and rings your own phone, and if you miss the call we text the caller asking what they need and send you their reply. Nobody answers it for you and nothing is recorded — but nothing gets lost either.

If you want to talk about call answering specifically, tell us what happens now and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.

Reviews

What clients say about their launch.

Real 5-star Google reviews from Australian businesses we've put online.

We brought MP Launch in to get us found on Google and it's made a real difference. Peter took the time to understand the business, moved everything over smoothly with no downtime, and keeps us updated every month on how we're tracking. Genuinely feels like they care about the results, not just getting paid. Really happy we made the switch.

Frequently asked questions

What is an AI receptionist?

It is a voice assistant that answers your business phone when you can't get to it. It greets the caller in a natural Australian voice, works out what they want, and either puts them through to you or takes their name and number and sends you the details straight away. Unlike a voicemail, the caller has a conversation and gets an answer. Unlike a call centre, it never has a queue and never has an off day.

Does it actually put callers through to me, or just take a message?

Both, and you decide which. If you're available it rings you and bridges the call properly — the person receiving the call hears a short announcement saying it's a business call and reads out the caller's number, so you know what you're picking up before you speak. If you don't answer within about 20 seconds, the caller goes back to the assistant rather than being dumped to a dead line, and their details are captured instead.

What happens to a call it can't transfer?

It captures the caller's first name and the best number to reach them on, confirms the number is right, and offers a callback time. The moment the call ends you get a text message and a full email containing the caller's details, an AI summary of what they wanted, the complete transcript and a link to the recording. Nothing sits in a voicemail box waiting to be checked.

Can it book jobs into my calendar?

Yes — we connect it to your calendar as part of the setup, so a job can go straight in while you're still under a sink. What it will never do is tell someone a job is booked when nothing was actually written to your calendar. If the connection drops, or you'd rather approve every job yourself, it falls back to taking the enquiry and a preferred time for you to confirm — because a customer turning up to a booking that doesn't exist is far worse than one who was asked to wait for a call back.

What hours does it cover?

Whatever hours you choose, including around the clock. Most owners have it pick up outside their working hours and whenever they're on the tools and can't answer. It doesn't take breaks, so the 7pm caller and the Sunday caller both get a real conversation instead of a beep.

Will callers know it's not a person?

We set yours up to say it's an assistant rather than pretend to be a person — we're not interested in tricking anyone, and you get the final say on the exact wording before it answers a single call. In practice callers are far less bothered by a machine that answers immediately and helps than by a human voicemail that never rings back. It also uses an Australian voice, so it doesn't sound like an overseas call centre.

Is this different from a virtual receptionist or answering service?

A traditional virtual receptionist is a person in a call centre answering for many businesses at once, usually billed per call or per minute, so a busy month costs you more. An AI receptionist answers every call instantly with no queue, and we charge a flat monthly fee rather than by the minute — a busy month costs the same as a quiet one.

Do I need a new phone number?

No. We can point your existing business number at it, or give you a separate number if you'd rather test it alongside what you have now. Either way you keep your number.

What does an AI receptionist cost in Australia?

We are not selling one at the moment, so we would rather point you somewhere useful than quote you a number for something you cannot buy from us. Across the Australian market you will see everything from per-minute plans to flat monthly fees, and the per-minute ones are worth reading closely: the month your phone finally runs hot is the month the bill arrives, which quietly pushes you to want fewer calls. If what you actually need is to stop losing the calls you miss, the managed business phone number included with our Care plan does that without anyone answering for you.

Ring the one that answers our phone

The fastest way to judge this is to hear it. Call (08) 7008 7501 outside business hours and you'll reach our own AI receptionist. Ours is set to take a message rather than chase us at night — yours gets set up to route calls however you want them routed. Then tell us what you'd want it to say differently for your business.

Or leave your number and I'll call you.
